Many former national representatives and celebrities will be in action at the 30th staging of the Bell-Ziadie Memorial football matches today at Winchester Park, St George’s College. Clive ‘Busy’ Campbell, chief organiser of the Masters and Celebrities Inc-promoted event, said all is in place for the matches. “Everything is in place for the matches, which are set to kick-off at 2 p.m., which will honour the memory of two great football stalwarts,” Campbell told The Gleaner. “It is a hype thing as we are playing for the Bell-Ziadie Trophy and bragging rights,” Campbell said about the banter leading up to the yearly showdowns. Four persons will be honoured: former FIFA referee Peter Prendergast and former national player Kenneth ‘Bop’ Campbell;and two posthumously, former Jamaica and St George’s College player, Leighton Hugh and former Santos and Jamaica outstanding goalkeeper, Orville Edwards.
