Image: SuppliedMs Langford’s three-bedroom house can accommodate five people and is described on Airbnb as being a “miner’s cottage”, two-minutes’ walk from the track.There are no other listings that can accommodate five-guests currently listed on Airbnb in Townsville from July 5-7.Ms Langford said she was not the only one making the most of the demand for accommodation. “A friend of mine around the corner has a four or five bedroom house and he’s renting his house for $7000 for the weekend,” she said.“I figure the opportunity’s there so we might as well grab it.”Private room accommodation is almost completely booked out on with the only four beds available in hostels.
