The City of Slavonski Brod is starting the realization of the 27,4 million kuna project “House of the Tambourine – Slavonian Music Fairy Tale”, which will be co-financed with 23,3 million kuna from EU funds, writes the portal Sbplus.hr.The City of Slavonski Brod submitted to the Brod-Posavina Administrative Department for Communal Economy and Environmental Protection a request for a preliminary acceptability assessment procedure for the ecological network for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and arrangement of the northwestern cavalier of the Brod Fortress. In addition to the reconstruction, rehabilitation and arrangement of the north-western cavalier, the reconstruction of the reconstructed space into the “House of the tambourine – Slavonian musical fairy tale – the house of our notes” will be done.”The building in question is located in the center of the fortress complex of the Brod Fortress in Slavonski Brod. The building of the complex has a massive horseshoe-shaped structure. The purpose of the project is to reconstruct the northwestern cavalier, rehabilitate and restore it, and return it to its original dimensions. After the reconstruction, the space will be given new content and converted into the Tamburitza House – Slavonian music fairy tale.. ”, It is written in the submitted request.By the way, in Slavonski Brod, the Tamburitza Museum operates as unique not only in Croatia but also in the world. But unfortunately in inappropriate conditions, which require as urgent changes as possible in order to be turned into a unique tourist experience for all visitors. The project, worth 30 million kuna, envisages that in a space of about two and a half thousand square meters, in addition to the museum exhibition, there will be a multimedia center, a master workshop and a souvenir shop. Part of the allocated space will consist of a multipurpose hall, archive and documentation center and administrative and storage spaces. By transforming a part of the Fortress into an Interactive Creative Center dedicated to traditional tamburitza music and a traditional musical instrument, the space would be protected from further deterioration, and then – gradually – connected to the urban and cultural fabric of the city. Later programs should turn it into a real tourist attraction and a first-class tourist experience for visitors from both Croatia and abroad.Source: Sbplus.hr

After days of hype and a Friday of frenzied buying, Clark County gets its snow day today.Only perhaps an inch covered the metro area, but combined with sub-freezing temperatures it was enough to make it the perfect morning to stay inside. Most community events and activities, including virtually anything taking place at a school, are canceled.Social media posts originating in Camas and Washougal showed higher accumulations than Vancouver. The National Weather Service says some areas of the county had 4 inches of snow fall this morning. And road conditions are treacherous further east. A semi-truck rollover reported around 8:30 a.m. on eastbound state Highway 14 at Milepost 21 near Lawton Creek continued to be listed among traffic alerts two hours later. But as temperatures rose and the sun shone through clouds, many major roads were free of snow and wet. The National Weather Service canceled a countywide winter storm warning about three hours early. There are currently no weather advisories for the area.Camas got the most snow out of any county community. According to the weather service’s snow accumulation totals as of 11:40 a.m., 8 inches were dumped on the town. Many spots in Vancouver received about half that amount. Cascade Park snow measured about 4 1/2 inches while about 3 1/2 inches fell around the Vancouver Mall. The weather service listed a total of 1.8 inches for Battle Ground. At 7:30 a.m., the temperature was only 30 degrees, and forecasters were predicting another blast of snow later today before a cold, frozen night. Another light dash of snow is expected Sunday, with the forecast high barely above freezing. In total, the snowfall might be a couple of inches, accompanied by black ice where it melts. We’ll suffer through this mix of snow, rain, ice and near-freezing temperatures for several days.
