China Brings In US$2M Supplies For LNP

Jallah Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Zhang Yue said a consignment of assorted items assessed at US$2 mullion for use by the Liberia National Police (LNP) is currently at the National Port Authority (NPA) waiting to be cleared.Ambassador Yue said his government is considering sending some medical supplies for soldiers of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).The Chinese Ambassador made the disclosure recently when he paid a courtesy call on the President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Armah Zolu Jallah, at his Capitol Building offices in Monrovia.Amb Zhang YueAmb. Zhang during the meeting informed Senator Jallah that he is immensely satisfied with what he described as the cordial relationship between both countries especially in the areas of economic cooperation, peace and security.“The Chinese government is highly contemplating providing support to recondition some of Liberia’s feeder roads to help farmers have access to the main road,” the Chinese Ambassador said.  He has meanwhile promised to hold consultations with his government to provide support to road construction in Liberia, promising to help support feeder road projects in Gbarpolu County.Amb. Enna Featured in Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight

first_imgSt. Louis, Mo. – Redshirt senior Steven Enna (Overland Park, Kan.) of the Drake men’s soccer team is one of this week’s featured student-athletes in the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Enterprise Bank and Trust Company, the MVC announced Wednesday, Nov. 7. Enna is joined by Southern Illinois cross country athlete Megan Krolak as this week’s spotlight players in the Valley.To qualify for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes are evaluated on their campus involvement and community service.Enna has previously been named to the All-MVC Freshman First Team, as well as receiving All-MVC Honorable Mention accolades his junior season. This is Enna’s second Scholar-Athlete of the Week, and this is his first since his sophomore season. He has played in 68 games in his career, and has scored 16 goals in that time. This season Enna ranks second on the Bulldogs with four goals this season and sits third on the team with 10 points.Enna has been active in the Drake Community. He has spent time helping package food that will be delivered to people in need through Meals for the Heartland and volunteered at the Dog Rescue Shelter of Des Moines. On campus, Enna is a member of St. Catherine of Siena, which is a campus church that is home to many Drake students. He has also tutored people on campus and is a member of the Drake Investment Club.Enna has earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and is now pursuing his MBA with a 3.84 cumulative grade point average in the graduate program.Print Friendly Versionlast_img read more
