Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj?” (Hey black guy, where’s your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?)Sarfraz made the comment even as Phehlukwayo inside edged a Shaheen Afridi delivery to deep fine leg and was running towards the non-striker’s end.Notably, the South Africa all-rounder enjoyed a lot of luck as Pakistan had handed him a reprieve only in the previous over via a dropped catch.Phehlukwayo also got an LBW decision against him successfully overturned after using the Decision Review System. Phehlukwayo remained unbeaten on 69 as South Africa gunned down the total with five wickets to spare and levelled the five-match series at 1-1.While on-air commentator Mike Haysman sought the literal translation of what Sarfraz had said, Pakistani cricketer-turned commentator, Ramiz Raja was heard saying: “Difficult really to translate that. It’s a big long sentence”.Sarfraz is in danger of facing sanctions from the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the match officials can initiate disciplinary action, which may fall under the ambit of the apex body’s anti-racism code.advertisementAccording to the “ICC Anti-Racism Policy for International Cricket- 1 October 2012”, The ICC and all of its Members should “not at any time offend, insult, humiliate, intimidate, threaten, disparage, vilify or unlawfully discriminate between persons based on their race, religion, culture, colour, descent, and/or national or ethnic origin (inappropriate racist conduct).”Watch video: Shoaib Akhtar reacts to Sarfraz Ahmed’s commentSarfraz must explain himself to Media & public regarding his comments to batsman.. pic.twitter.com/Ocx74ry4IW Shoaib Akhtar (@shoaib100mph) January 23, 2019This isn’t funny. Definitely not someone who should be leading an international cricket team. Ban should only be the start for his racist comments.Saurabh Malhotra (@MalhotraSaurabh) January 22, 2019Also Read | Rassie van der Dussen guides South Africa to series-levelling victory vs PakistanAlso Read | 2nd ODI South Africa vs Pakistan in Durban: HighlightsFor sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to indiatoday.in/sports. We knew the lads were tired, but we knew we had to do something, bearing in mind that we have a game in 48 hours. So yes, it was a long journey; but we got some good work in, a bit on how we want to play defensively without the ball. So it was a good session, all in all. Players have enjoyed it, and now we are looking forward to the other training sessions,” Johnson detailed.Touching a bit on team bonding, Johnson said it is getting better as the days go by.“I think the most important thing we see in camp is the unity. I’m not with all this local-based and international-based; what I’ve seen over the last week coming together is a unified group, a group that interacts well no matter where they’re from. We all pull on the same shirt to play for one common cause, and that’s for Guyana,” he declared. The friendly is expected to kickoff at 12:00hrs or 10:00hrs, Costa Rica time. read more
