Alabama once again took the top spot after a dominant performance against former No. 3 LSU.Clemson remained at No. 2 in the new standings, while Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, and Oklahoma all moved up one spot thanks to the Tigers’ 29-0 loss. After the poll was released, the ESPN panel of college football experts broke down the list. When asked if Georgia could overtake Michigan for the No. 4 spot, Kirk Herbstreit placed full confidence in the Wolverines. Here’s what Herbie had to say about Jim Harbaugh’s team.“Don’t underestimate this Michigan team. Their defense is legit and now their offense is championship caliber as well with Shea Patterson. I have no issue with Michigan sitting up there above Georgia.”The Wolverines field one of, if not the, best defense in the nation this year. Barring a massive upset, Michigan will enter its final game of the regular season as a top-4 team in the country – that game comes on the road in Columbus against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
